An Arkansas man was hospitalized with serious injuries after his car became lodged in a trailer on a Warrensburg highway.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that 30-year-old Austin Neff of Poinsett, Ark. had entered the turn lane on eastbound U.S. Route 50 at Devasher Road just after 5 a.m. Wednesday, when he didn’t slow down for a semi-truck also making the turn. Neff’s vehicle impacted the trailer that the truck was towing, ending up lodged underneath. The semi-truck then dragged the car onto Devasher Road, stopping in the northbound lane.

Neff was taken to a Kansas City hospital. Troopers say he was not wearing his seat belt. The semi-truck had no reported damage and was able to leave the scene, and its driver from New Jersey had no reported injuries.
