An Odessa man sustained serious injuries after his tractor-trailer briefly crossed the median of Interstate 70 in Cooper County on Wednesday night.

The Missouri State highway Patrol responded to the one-vehicle accident around 7 p.m. at mile marker 112.6, about nine miles east of Boonville. According to troopers, the truck driven by 62-year-old Christopher Wanager went off the left shoulder of westbound I-70 and struck the cable barriers in the median. The truck then entered the eastbound lanes of the interstate before returning to the median, striking the cable barrier again. The truck then overturned and came to rest on its side. Wanager was taken to a Columbia hospital.
