Saline County Collector Cindi Sims says Monday’s property tax sale generated just over $22,000 in surplus revenue for the county.
A total of 20 properties went under the hammer at Monday’s annual sale of parcels whose previous owners failed to settle their delinquent taxes. Sims says 15 of those properties successfully sold. 22 interested buyers had registered by last Friday’s deadline, but only 15 participated. The sales totaled $42,649.11, which covered $19,834.51 in delinquent taxes owned from 2022 and 2023.
Sims says she will present the surplus funds to Saline County Treasurer Jared Brewer during the next session of the Saline County Commission, set for Sept. 11th.
