The Sedalia School District Board of Education accepted a pair of bids at Monday’s meeting, but postponed a decision on a third set of bid proposals.

Superintendent Dr Todd Fraley says the board agreed to masonry repairs on Heber Hunt, Horace Mann and Washington elementary schools, as well as a roof replacement project for Washington Elementary and two secondary school buildings.

The board accepted the lower of two tuck-pointing bids from Pullman General Contracting totaling $812,544, while Cornell Roofing and Sheet Metal had the lowest of four roofing bids, totaling $3,940,500. Meanwhile, the board voted to delay a decision on the bid submitted by Professional Contractors and Engineering for renovations to the gym annex at Smith-Cotton Junior High and the south wing at Sedalia Middle School. Fraley says their bid is pending, as PCE has fallen behind schedule on another project in the district.

PCE submitted a bid of $5,668,000.00. Fraley notes a lower bid had been submitted by Prost Builders, but was rejected as they had failed to bid the entire scope of the project.
