
An area Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper has received a promotion effective Sunday, September 1.
Commanding officer of Troop A Captain Steve Wilhoit that Corporal Jerod J. B. Crump have been promoted to the rank of sergeant. Crump will remain within his current assignment as a Commercial Motor Vehicle Enforcement Trooper.
Crump was appointed to the Missouri State Highway Patrol on July 1, 2010, as a member of the 92nd Recruit Class. After graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Troop A, Zone 12, in Johnson County.
On June 1, 2017, Crump was promoted to corporal and remained within Zone 12, continuing to serve the citizens of Johnson County. In 2019, Crump transferred to the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control and served within the Troop A region as a Criminal Investigator. In 2021, Crump transferred back to Troop A and began serving the 13-county region as a Commercial Motor Vehicle Enforcement Trooper.
Crump was born in Clinton. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1999. Crump earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from the University of Central Missouri In 2003.
In 2004, Crump earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Missouri.
