The Johnson County Commission has agreed to reduce the General Revenue and Road and Bridge property tax levies following their annual levy hearing on August 29.

The General Revenue levy will be reduced from 0.1085 to 0.0900 cents per $100 of assessed valuation. The Road and Bridge levy will be reduced from 0.2363 to 0.2000 cents per $100 of assessed valuation. This will provide all taxpayers of Johnson County with a total reduction of 0.0548 on their county levies.

The $0.0548 rollback will be applied across the board to all property taxes within Johnson County, providing immediate relief to homeowners, business owners, and agricultural property owners alike.

The rollback will take effect with the next billing cycle, and residents can expect to see the savings reflected in their upcoming property tax bills.

Commissioners also set the levy for the Johnson County Board of Services at 0.1156, the same rate it has been at since 2021. The levy, which is anticipated to generate approximately $970,000, will go to the benefit of programs and services that benefit developmentally disabled residents of Johnson County.
