Voters in four Carroll County precincts unable to cast a ballot for District Two Commissioner in last month’s Republican Primary will have the chance to do so this Friday, Sept. 6.

County Clerk Petal Stanley explains to KMMO News what led to the court order calling for a new election.

The four precincts impacted are Egypt I, Egypt II, Moss Creek, and Wakenda. Stanley says affected voters are receiving a postcard in the mail and a phone call.  They will be the only voters allowed to cast a new ballot, and only the District Two Commissioner race is impacted.

Impacted voters will need to go to the Carroll County Courthouse to cast their vote between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. Stanley notes that no absentee or advance voting will be available for this election.

Stanley stresses that any votes cast Friday will add to the total already certified, which had Charles Pence ahead of Kevin Brown by a vote of 441 to 437. Greg Flick is also a candidate and was sitting in third at 142 votes.
