Aldermen in Higginsville approved the only action item on their agenda at Tuesday’s board meeting, a request to close a street for next month’s homecoming parade.

The board agreed to close Main Street from 15th to 22nd Street on the afternoon of Oct. 11th to allow the school district to have their homecoming parade. The parade will take place that afternoon at 2 p.m.

During the meeting, city administrator Jeanette Dobson provided an update on an upcoming virtual visit from representatives of Prep The Page to review the city’s website and social media presence. Dobson also reminded aldermen of the upcoming Higginsville Country Fair, scheduled for Sept. 14th through the 21st.
