A Slater man suffered serious injuries after losing control of his motorcycle in the city Wednesday night.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to the accident just after 8 p.m. at the intersection of Broadway and Jenkins. Troopers report that 55-year-old James Hatchell was heading south on Broadway when he lost control of his motorcycle, causing the bike to overturn and eject him. Hatchell was flown to a Columbia hospital for treatment.
