Even if plans to sell the site of the Marshall Municipal Court don’t go through, the court could still make the move.
Marshall Mayor Vince Lutterbie says the condition of the building could soon make it necessary for the court to head across the street to City Hall.
Lutterbie says the United Way could move downstairs, while the city might add a workout area for its employees.
Should the municipal court building go away, it wouldn’t just be the court moving, but also the Marshall Municipal Band. Lutterbie says discussions are underway with the band’s leadership.
The Marshall City Council voted Tuesday to offer the municipal court lot to Overland Group for $150,000, provided the buyer agrees to build a small grocery store.
