The Sweet Springs Board of Aldermen approved changes to the employee handbook during its meeting on Monday, September 9.

The first change the board considered was to establish time clocks for Public Works and City Hall employees. All employees have normal work hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Any hours outside of the normal work hours would need prior approval. Aldermen approved this policy change.

The next policy change aldermen considered regarded overtime that is paid to workers that are called into work after they have gone home. The current policy allows one hour of overtime to be paid. The board considered a motion to increase the policy from to two hours of overtime pay, however, the motion died due to a lack of a second.

In other news, aldermen agreed to move the date of its October meeting due to Columbus Day on October 14. The board will next meet on Tuesday, October 15.
