Lexington Police Chief Troy Sims could end up out of a job after a hearing scheduled for Wednesday evening at The Lex auditorium.
The Lexington City Council will meet in special session Wednesday at 6 p.m. to hear allegations of misconduct. An overflow crowd at City Hall two weeks ago prompted the council to delay the hearing and allow it to take place at a larger venue. While the public is welcome to attend, courtroom decorum will be enforced, and no public comment or audience participation will be allowed. The specifics of the allegations Sims is facing will not be disclosed by city officials until the hearing begins.
