
Daniel W. “Danny Wayne” Walker, 83, of rural Nelson, MO, died Thursday, September 12, 2024, at Legendary Nursing and Rehab in Marshall.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at St. Peter Catholic Church with Fr. Francis Doyle officiating. Burial will follow in Nelson Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Memorials are suggested to St. Peter Catholic Church or Nelson Cemetery in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home. Danny was born on June 14, 1941, in Boonville, and was the son of the late Daniel Monroe Walker and Catherine Marie “Kitty” Hillen Walker. He lived in the rural Nelson area his entire life where he was a 1959 graduate of Nelson High School, and a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Marshall. Following high school he worked for DeKalb seed for several years, but his life was spent farming. Being an avid outdoorsman he enjoyed his work of farming as well as fishing and hunting.
He is survived by first cousin, Gary Walker (Judy) of rural Nelson; their children, Kristi Ellis (Monte), Brandon Walker (Karen) and Shauna Maschmann (Matt); first cousin, Alan Walker of Sweet Springs; and a second cousin, Debbie Goss of Slater.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, and his companion, Shirley J. Martin.
