The Missouri Department of Transportation has reopened two more bridges recently rehabilitated in Chariton County.

Crews reopened to traffic Thursday the Route D bridge over the West Fork of Bee Branch, south of Bynumville, and the Route JJ bridge over Slater Branch, east of Rothville. The two bridges are part of the Northwest Bridge Bundle, MoDOT’s two-year project to rebuild or replace 31 bridges across Northwest Missouri considered to be in poor shape. Both bridges were completed a month ahead of schedule.

The next bridge slated for work in Chariton County is the Route 11 bridge over Salt Creek south of Mendon, which handles an average of 913 vehicles per day. MoDOT lists the planned start date for this bridge as Oct. 28.
