A juvenile is in custody following a high-speed pursuit through Marshall that ended with a vehicle crashing into the side of a home.
The Saline County Sheriff’s Office reports that a deputy noticed a vehicle exceeding the speed limit on College Street near South Grant, heading westbound around 10:45 p.m. Saturday night. Deputies also noticed that the vehicle’s license plates were expired and the vehicle didn’t have its headlights on. The driver, identified only as a juvenile, turned their headlights on when the deputy activated his lights and siren, but instead of stopping, turned south on Benton. The driver attempted to turn onto North Lake Drive but lost control, leaving the roadway and striking a nearby home. The sheriff’s office says the home’s garage area sustained substantial damage, but neither the driver nor the home’s residents were injured.
The matter has been turned over to the Saline County Juvenile Office.
