The Slater School District Board of Education will have a new face beginning next month.

Superintendent Dr Terry Lorenz says that the board fielded letters of interested from district patrons following the retirement of former board president Jayme England, and made an appointment at Monday night’s school board meeting.

Lorenz says district leaders are eager to have Lexi Dowell join the board.

Slater’s next school board meeting is Oct. 22. Also at Monday night’s meeting, the board accepted the resignation of Jack Anderson as an assistant track coach.
