The Slater City Council considered several bids for a skid steer purchase using USDA Rural Development Equipment Grant funds during its meeting on Tuesday, September 17.

City Administrator Gene Griffith said the city was awarded the grant from Rural Development in 2023, and has used the grant to replace various equipment and machines the city uses.

The council approved the low bid from Bobcat in the amount of $51,981. The bid includes the skid steer, an angle broom, and a pickup broom.

In other news, the council heard an update regarding the Slater Fall Festival, which will be held October 18-20. Griffith said the city is still looking for volunteers to help work the various events for the festival.
