Claudia Kays has officially filed to run for Saline County Assessor as a write-in candidate for the November 5 General Election.

Saline County Clerk Brittni Burton confirmed that Kays has filed to serve as a write-in candidate for Saline County Assessor. Incumbent Jessica Adcock Goodman won the Republican Primary in August, beating out two other challengers and finishing with 44 percent of the vote.

Missouri state law says a write-in candidate’s name is not printed on the ballot, nor is their name posted at the polling place. Votes for a write-in candidate are only counted if a declaration of intent is submitted to the election authority prior to Friday, October 25.
