Nancy Chappell, 90, of Lee’s Summit, formerly of Slater, died Friday, September 20, 2024 at her home.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at Rehoboth Cemetery in Slater, with Rev. Terry Sandwith officiating. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to the New Prospect Baptist Church north of Slater, or Rehoboth Cemetery in care of Weiker Funeral Home in Slater.
Born August 1, 1934 in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late Bernice E. and Mable Mirtzwa Norvell. On May 25, 1968 in Slater, she married Dean A. Chappell, and he preceded her in death on August 15, 2012.
She is survived by several cousins.
Mrs. Chappell was a member of the Grandview Baptist Church in Grandview, Missouri, and was a 1952 graduate of Slater High School. She attended Missouri Valley College in Marshall. She and her husband owned and operated Colony Decorating Center in Grandview for over twenty years until her retirement.
