The Kansas City Royals were limited to three hits in a second straight shutout, as the San Francisco Giants completed the sweep with a 2-0 win Sunday at Kauffman Stadium.

The Giants got their runs in the second inning, when Grant McCray tripled in Jerar Encarnacion, then came home on Brett Wisely’s single. The Royals managed to load the bases in the eighth inning, only for Salvador Perez to pop out. Another seven runners were stranded by the Royals. Seth Lugo went seven innings in the loss, allowing three hits while striking out five. Blake Snell picked up the win for the Giants, going six innings and only allowing two hits and a walk while claiming nine strikeouts.

The loss is Kansas City’s seventh straight and marks the first time since 2006 the Royals lost their last six home games of the season. In the past six games, the Royals have stranded 45 base runners and went 7-for-42 with runners in scoring position, including 0-for-17 against the Giants.
