The Higginsville Board of Aldermen approved agreements with public entities in Lafayette County for emergency dispatching services during its meeting on Monday, September 23.
Various Lafayette County entities agree to pay a fee to the City of Higginsville for dispatching services each year. These entities include the cities of Alma, Bates City, Concordia, Corder, Lake Lafayette, Lexington, Napoleon, Odessa, Waverly, and Wellington, as well as many fire districts. This agreement brings in about $205,150 in revenue for Higginsville to offset the County Dispatch Expenses.
In other news, aldermen approved an updated agreement with the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) regarding the implementation of the Conservation Community Assistance Program (CAP). The city first entered into an agreement with MDC in 2013, which allows for the department to stock the city lake each year. The updated agreement removes the original’s Maintenance Responsibility clause, meaning MDC is no longer responsible for performing maintenance on the property, but still allows for department to restock the lake.
The updated agreement was approved.
