Alec Burleson and Brendan Donovan recorded multiple RBI hits Sunday afternoon as the St Louis Cardinals closed the 2024 season with a 6-1 win at San Francisco.

Donovan started the Cardinals’ scoring with a solo home run in the third inning, then added an RBI single in the fifth to bring home Thomas Saggese. Burleson’s first RBI of the day followed to bring in Pedro Pagés. José Fermín added another run in the sixth, followed by Burleson’s two-run RBI single to score Fermín and Jordan Walker. Brett Wisely tallied the Giants’ lone run in the seventh. Michael McGreevy went eight innings and allowed the one run on five hits while notching six punchouts, to finish the season with a 3-0 mark.

The Cardinals season closes with an 83-79 record, good for third in the NL Central.
