The Sedalia Fire Department has reported a fire at a landfill near city limits on Monday, September 30.

Pettis County Fire has responded to the Central Missouri Landfill to control the blaze. The Sedalia-Pettis County Emergency Management Agency is reporting that Oak Grove Lane, between Broadway Boulevard and the Low Water Crossing is currently closed. Not much is known about the cause of the fire.

Residents are encouraged to avoid the area while emergency crews work.
