seal-of-sedalia

An ordinance providing guidelines for the construction of tiny homes in Sedalia received the city council’s approval at last Monday’s meeting.

By a 6-2 vote, the council agreed to the ordinance as recommended by the Planning and Zoning Commission. City administrator Kelvin Shaw says discussion on the ordinance was two-fold.

Shaw notes that some dissent among the council stemmed from the application fee associated with a special use permit.

First ward councilmen Tom Oldham and Jack Robinson voted against the ordinance, while another council member sought an amendment while the vote was being taken.

Also at last week’s meeting, Sedalia’s city council agreed to set a 20 mile-per-hour speed limit for Cunningham and Buckingham drives in the Cambridge Village neighborhood, but postponed a decision on a request to post no parking signs in front of a residence on West Sixth Street.
