Despite missing the playoffs the past two seasons, the St Louis Cardinals are keeping their top brass in place for the 2025 season, but a change will take place in 2026.

At a news conference Monday afternoon, the team announced that next season will be the last for John Mozeliak, the president of baseball operations since 2007. Mozeliak has one year remaining on his contract, and will be succeeded by Chaim Bloom, who joined the team in January as an advisor. Bloom will remain in an advisory role for next season, responsible for player development, before taking over for Mozeliak with a five-year contract. Bloom previously worked for the Red Sox and Rays.

Manager Oli Marmol is also being retained for the 2025 season, having led the Cardinals to an 83-79 record last season.
