The City of Sedalia could ask their employees to pay more for their families’ health insurance.
Sedalia’s city council reviewed insurance costs at their meeting Sept. 23, when they received a presentation from IMA Financial Group about the city’s current plan. City administrator Kelvin Shaw says Sedalia is about to complete its first year of investing in a self-funded plan, rather than buying their insurance from a carrier.
Shaw explains how the city plans to address the cost increase.
The Sedalia City Council is expected to consider employee health benefits at their next meeting Monday, Oct. 7.
