
The Missouri Department of Transportation will begin a number of new road improvement projects this week in Cooper County.
Bridge maintenance is underway on Interstate 70 at the Dunkles Drive overpass, near the the 99.8 mile marker. Single lane closures are expected nightly between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m., between Oct. 5 and Oct. 19. Also beginning Monday are culvert replacement projects along Route 87 between Routes D and U and Route H between Routes AA and O. One lane will remain open on these roadways, with crews flagging traffic through the work zone. Also this week on Route H, pothole patching is planned between Routes 50 and AA. Elsewhere in Cooper County, Roadside work is planned Monday for Route N between Route NN and River View Drive, while a seal coating project on Route 5 between Boonville and Syracuse begins Friday and will last until Oct. 21.
Pavement repairs along a Howard County roadway continues. MoDOT will keep Route E closed from Route 5 in Fayette west to the Adam’s Fork Creek Bridge. Motorists must continue to use an alternate route. To the north in Chariton County, ditching work on Route 5 between Route T and French Road is scheduled to begin Wednesday, while pothole patching begins Monday on Route 11 between Routes E and C.
In Randolph County, Route A is closed Monday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the railroad crossing just west of Business Route 63 in Moberly, to allow crossing repairs. Two more culverts are set for replacement on Route AA this week, with the road closed Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. at County Road 2610, and Wednesday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. about a half-mile south of Route A.
