Two people sustained moderate injuries after their pickup ran off a Lafayette County roadway Monday, Oct. 7.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to the one-vehicle accident around 7:30 p.m. on Route N, about three miles northeast of Dover. Troopers say that 39-year-old Jack Hamm of Warrensburg failed to negotiate a curve as he was driving east. Hamm’s pickup went off the roadway, striking a fence and traffic sign before overturning. Both he and his passenger, 32-year-old Rebecca King of Kansas City, received moderate injuries in the crash and were taken to a nearby hospital. Troopers say Hamm was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.
