Saline County’s tax collections jumped 16 percent year-over-year during September.

The figures presented by treasurer Jared Brewer show sales tax collections from the past month totaled $125,612.23, up $10,805.14 from August and $19,822.59 compared to a year ago. Similar collections were reported for the law enforcement and economic development taxes. Use tax collections in the county totaled $87,449.12. While that was up $15,896.88 month-over-month, collections were down 12 percent from the previous year.

Year-to-date, collections remitted to Saline County by the Missouri Department of revenue total $1.17 million each in sales tax, law enforcement tax, and economic development tax revenues, while use tax collections presently total $871,491.55.
