As Marshall Public Schools prepares to consolidate three school buildings into the new intermediate school next year, the district is organizing its staff for the new building.

In closed session at Tuesday’s meeting, the Board of Education hired Amy Heuman as the school’s first principal and Falon Bossaler as the assistant principal. Superintendent Caleb Petet says the two principals’ experiences at their current building should make the transition to the new building smooth.

Petet adds that most of the faculty and staff at Benton, Eastwood and Northwest are expected to formally receive their transfer approvals next month.

Two other principals will be on the move after this school year. The board approved the transfer of Northwest assistant principal Norine Gaskill to the same role at the high school, and accepted the resignation of Benton Elementary principal Rendy Maupin, effective at the end of the current school year. Petit says Maupin has spent 32 years with the district.
