Moberly Schools are among the districts looking at the options for their athletic programs following Thursday’s announcement that the North Central Missouri Conference would disband after the spring of 2026.

Superintendent Cristina Wright says the decision by the five remaining schools was not taken lightly.

Wright says Moberly activities director Tony Vestal is leading the discussions to find a new home for the Spartans. She adds that they hope to find a conference with schools of similar size, and notes one consideration that district officials are weighing.

NCMC championships will still be contested for the remainder of this school year as well as 2025-26.
