A Lincoln teenager suffered serious injuries after a pickup overturned on a Benton County roadway Saturday, Oct. 12.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that 19-year-old Kaleb Mundy was a passenger in a pickup that was heading southbound on Moellman Avenue when around 2:20 a.m., the pickup ran off the right side of the roadway. The driver, 19-year-old Kyle Eckhoff of Lincoln, overcorrected, causing the vehicle to overturn. Mundy was taken to a Columbia hospital. Troopers say Mundy had not been wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash, while Eckhoff was, and avoided injury.
