The Marshall Philharmonic Orchestra will begin its 62nd Season on Sunday, October 20, featuring tuba soloist, Joe Schreimann.

This admission-free concert will be held at 2:30 p.m. in the Harold L. Lickey Auditorium of Bueker Middle School, in Marshall.

Sunday’s soloist, Joe Schreimann, is in his third year as Instrumental Music Program Coordinator at State Fair Community College where he directs the concert, jazz and athletic bands. MPO Conductor Kevin Lines says Schreimann is an amazing an accomplished musician.

Schreimann first spent four years in the Concordia R-II School District followed by eight years in the St. Joseph School District, leading Lafayette High School to the band’s first “Exemplary” rating at the Missouri State High School Athletic Association’s Music Festival in over 20 years.

This year, guests will be treated to new stage and seating area lighting thanks to the generous assistance of the Buckner Foundation in partnership with Marshall Public Schools. Orchestra member and board member, Dr. Barbara Burns, spearheaded this important project, filing the grant application and securing the funding. Lines says he is grateful for all the support from the community over the years.

A meet and greet reception will be held immediately following the concert.
