The St Louis Blues struggled against the Minnesota Wild and goalkeeper Filip Gustavsson, falling 4-1 on Tuesday night in the Blues’ home opener at Enterprise Center.
Gustavsson made 27 saves, only allowing a goal from Mathieu Joseph halfway through the third. After the Blues pulled Jordan Binnington, Gustavsson stopped a shot from Pavel Buchnevich with 15 seconds remaining, then cleared it down the middle to send it into the net on the other side for just the 15th goal scored by a goalie in NHL history. Ryan Hartman, Jakub Lauro, and Marco Rossi also scored for the Wild.
Four games into the new season, the Blues are currently fifth in the Central Division. They’ll host the New York Islanders on Thursday night at 7 p.m.
