The Odessa Board of Aldermen voted to establish the 2024-2025 Police Facility Focus Group Committee during its meeting on Monday, October 14.

City Administrator Shawna Davis said aldermen decided to form this committee after the city’s public safety sales tax failed to pass during the August Primary Election.

Davis says the committee will be made up of eleven members; three community members from each of Odessa’s three wards and two at large positions held by business owners. The committee’s first meeting is planned for November 14.

The board also approved the appointment of Madeline Carrigan to the Park Board.
