The Concordia Board of Aldermen discussed the design standards of a new sidewalk on Main Street during its meeting on Monday, October 21.

City Administrator Dale Klussman explained that there were questions about whether the new sidewalk on Main Street (from 4th Street to 2nd Street) met ADA Standards due to the placement of the mailboxes on the sidewalk. Klussman said a representative from Crocket Engineering attended the meeting to answer questions about the design of the sidewalk.

After some discussion, Crocket Engineering confirmed the sidewalk was compliant with ADA standards.

In other news, the board approved a pay application of just over $22,000 to Alpha Construction, who is doing the concrete work for that new sidewalk.

Also, Klussman spoke about the newly-formed Emergency Management Planning Committee and stated that the committee will meet on Tuesday, October 29.
