It’ll be an all I-70 Conference semifinal Wednesday, Oct. 23 at the Class One, District 14 Volleyball Tournament hosted by Concordia. That’s because the higher seeded squads were able to win pretty comfortably during first round action on Tuesday.

Tonight’s matchups pit top-seeded Santa Fe, who had a bye last evening, against Wellington-Napoleon in the 6 p.m. contest. Wrapping things up in the other semifinal tilt will be second-seeded Concordia versus Crest Ridge at 7:30 p.m. Both matches are scheduled to air on KMMO-FM 102.9 and on kmmo.com.

All three of Tuesday’s matches turned out to be 3-0 sweeps for the winning side. First, fourth-seeded Wellington won for only the seventh time this season as they outplayed La Monte in the opener, 25-21, 25-15 and 25-16. That was followed by Concordia’s 25-13, 25-18 and 25-16 victory over Sweet Springs/Malta Bend which improves the Orioles’ record to 21-10 overall. Then, finishing off the night, third-seeded Crest Ridge claimed their 18th victory of the year by rolling past fellow Johnson County opponent Kingsville, 25-13, 25-13 and 25-14.

The Class One, District 14 title match is scheduled for Thursday evening at 6 p.m.
