Brandon Saad recorded a career milestone with his first goal of the game, but the St Louis Blues were unable to keep the Winnipeg Jets from flying away, as the NHL’s last unbeaten team dealt the Blues a 3-2 loss Tuesday, Oct. 22 at the Enterprise Center.
Saad claimed career point number 500 with a wrist shot halfway through the first period to put the Blues on the board. However, the Jets would respond with all three of their goals in the second period, with center Cole Perfetti recording an assist on each one. The Blues claimed a goal back in the third, also off the stick of Saad. Robert Thomas recorded an assist on both Blues goals.
Jets goalie Connor Hellebuyck made 27 saves while the Blues’ Jordan Binnington made 21. The Blues split the four-game home stand and sit fifth in the Central Division on eight points. The Blues head north of the border for their next three games, starting with the Toronto Maple Leafs and former Blues skipper Craig Berube on Thursday night at 6 p.m.
