
Golfers from Stover finished the Class One MSHSAA State Girls Golf Championship tied for fourth Tuesday, Oct. 22 in Farmington.
The Bulldogs recorded a 399 score Tuesday to finish with a final total of 788 strokes, tying them with Highland. Mia Rowland shot an 85 to improve her score to 177, finishing tied for seventh, while Brooklyn Black was 17th with a combined score of 187. Macie Harman of Cairo finished in the top 20, scoring 90 on Tuesday to place in a tie for 15th. Duchesne posted the low score for the second day to lock up the Class One title, finishing 12 strokes better than South Harrison. Rylee Allred picked up the state individual title with a 151. Harrisburg finished ninth in the team standings, with Lindsey Burbridge leading the Bulldogs with a 202.
Chillicothe placed eighth as a team at the Class Two state tournament in Nixa, scoring 855. Gracelynn Barnett led the Hornets with a 201, good for 32nd individually. Karagyn Cooper of Boonville finished in a tie for 11th with a 179, while Karoline Dooley of Richmond shot an 87 Tuesday to finish 17th with a total of 185. MICDS claimed the Class One title by a 26-stroke margin, while Emree Cameron of Nevada recorded Tuesday’s low score of 69 to overtake Lisa Zhang of MICDS for the individual title.
At the Class Three state tournament in Springfield, Lillie Mannering of Warrensburg recorded an 86 Tuesday to finish 12th with a total of 165. Teammates Avrie Fox finished on 200 while Marissa Kennish recorded a 205. Marshall’s Breanna Mach had a two-day total of 186, placing her in a tie for 43rd. Glendale dominated the tournament, winning the Class Three title with a 50-stroke lead over second-place Springfield Central, while Page Bowman and Audrey Duvall finished in the top two positions.
The Class Four state tournament in Cape Girardeau saw Smith-Cotton’s Charlotte Fischer and Hannah Lowman finish tied for 52th with both golfers finishing on 185. Visitation Academy finished three strokes better than St Joseph’s Academy for the state title, while St Joseph’s Tess Guignon won the individual state title with a combined score of 153.
