A one-vehicle accident in southern Johnson County on Tuesday, Oct. 22 dealt a Warrensburg man moderate injuries.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says just before 6 p.m., 37-year-old Michael Smelser was driving his pickup northbound on Route 13, just past the intersection with Route 2. Troopers say that Smelser failed to make the curve and went off the right side of the roadway. Smelser overcorrected and returned to the roadway, but went off the right side a second time and overturned. He was treated at a Warrensburg hospital.
