It’s the top two seeds at this week’s Class One, District 14 volleyball tournament that will square off for the championship Thursday, Oct. 24 when Santa Fe meets the host school Concordia.
Both of those teams posted pretty impressive wins in semifinal-round action last evening when they each came away with 3-0 victories. First, top-seeded Santa Fe rolled over Wellington-Napoleon very decisively, defeating the Tigers 25-11, 25-10 and 25-19. That improves the Chiefs to 20-9 on the season. In the other semifinal matchup, second-seeded Concordia broke open a 16-16 tie midway through the first set to beat Crest Ridge, 25-18. From there, the evening belonged to the Orioles as they complimented that 25-18 victory with wins of 25-12 and 25-16 to round out their sweep of the Cougars. Concordia’s record now stands at 22-10-1 overall
Sante Fe thus meets Concordia for the District 14 crown at 6 p.m. this evening in a match we’ll have on KMMO-FM 102.9 and online at kmmo.com
