A Boonville woman suffered serious injuries after driving off the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 on Friday night.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred around 8:30 as 27-year-old Breanna Connell was driving her car near the 106 mile marker. According to the report, Connell went off the left side of the interstate and struck the median cable, which then sent her car across the roadway and off the right side. Connell’s car then hit a guardrail that sent the car back across the roadway and into the median cable a second time. Connell was taken to a Columbia hospital for treatment. Troopers say she was not wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash.
