The Governor Michael L Parson Arena under construction at the Missouri State Fairgrounds will connect to the city of Sedalia’s wastewater system following approval of an agreement Monday night between the city and Missouri Department of Natural Resources.

City administrator Kelvin Shaw says the agreement allows the line to run under the Katy Trail along Clarendon Road.

Also at last week’s meeting, Sedalia’s City Council established fees for plumbing certificates to comply with an 80-year-old state law. The new fees, as prescribed by statute, are $5 per year for a master plumber certificate and $1 per year for a journeyman plumber certificate.
