The Odessa Board of Aldermen considered an ordinance to enter into an agreement with Allstate Consultants, LLC regarding water and wastewater ARPA projects during a special meeting on Monday, October 28.
The city is gearing up for two projects utilizing ARPA funding, and passed the resolution to enter into the agreement with Allstate Consultants for engineering redesign, bidding, and construction observations services. City Administrator Shawna Davis said the first is a sewer redirection project taking place on the southwest corner town.
The other project is an upgrade to one of the city’s waterlines.
Davis says the projects will require about $2 million in infrastructure, with the city receiving about $1.1 million in ARPA funding.
The design process for the projects is complete. The city will now begin the bidding process and has to be under contract for both of these projects by the end of 2024 to meet federal guidelines.
