The Marshall Municipal Utilities Board of Public Works voted to request qualifications for engineering services to update its Water Master Plan during its meeting on Wednesday, October 30.
This plan includes several updates and projects MMU wants to complete on its water main system. MMU wants to update the water main replacements and additions to its water distribution system, while also evaluating the 12 inch transmission line that runs about ten miles from the Water Treatment Plant to the reservoirs on North Miami Street.
An update to MMU’s Water Master Plan must be completed before these projects can be added to the Owner Supervised Plan (OSP).
In other news, the board approved a motion to replace the windows in the waste aeration and return activated sludge buildings. Wastewater Treatment Plan Superintendent Eric Perkins said two windows in the waste aeration building have fallen out and broken. He notes the outside window on the door of the return activated sludge building needs to be replaced as well. The budget for this projects is $10,000.
