The City of Sedalia spent part of October bringing itself in line with a decades-old state law.

City administrator Kelvin Shaw says the moves taken by the city council at two of their meetings this month ensure that the city is in line with state statutes concerning the licensing of master plumbers and journeyman plumbers. That included re-establishing the city’s Board of Examiners of Plumbers.

Shaw adds that the city’s law firm attempted to pursue a legislative fix.

At a special meeting October 14th, the Sedalia city council approved the nomination of master plumber Dimitrius Maduros and journeyman plumber Dakota Venable to the plumbers’ board. The board met last Thursday morning to consider one master plumber license application.
