The next bridge replacement project in the Northwest Bridge Bundle project is set to begin in November.
The Route 11 bridge over Salt Creek, located south of Mendon in northwestern Chariton County, will close beginning Monday, Nov. 4. The project to replace the bridge is expected to continue through March 2025. During construction, motorists will need to use a detour using Routes C, F and U.S. Route 24.
The current Salt Creek Bridge was built in 1953 and has a traffic volume of about 913 vehicles per day.
The Salt Creek is among 31 bridges in poor condition identified as needing replaced or rehabilitated in MoDOT’s Northwest Bridge Bundle. A full list of the bridges in the project are listed on the project’s web site.
All work is weather permitting and schedules are subject to change.
