
The Oak Grove Panthers picked up six runs to seize momentum, doing so in the top of the seventh inning Saturday, Nov. 2 to stun the Centralia Panthers 8-3 and win the MSHSAA Class Three Softball State Championship in Springfield.
Oak Grove made their way to the title game after defeating Sullivan 4-1 on Friday, then proceeded to play Centralia close in the championship match. The state title is the first for the school’s softball program, one year after claiming third place. Oak Grove finish the season 25-9.
