A project supported by the Marshall High School DECA Chapter aims to educate the county’s newest voters about local issues, including three on Tuesday’s general election ballot.

Senior Michelle Lin runs the “We Voted Today” campaign for her DECA project. She tells KMMO News that the project includes outreach on social media.

The account has over 100 followers and continues the program launched last year by alumnus Jackson Russell. He highlights another part of the project, a mock election at the Martin Community Center.

About 120 students from three area high schools took part in last week’s mock election, including a number of seniors who will be eligible to vote this November.
