The Marshall City Council gave approval Tuesday, Nov. 5 to a resolution allowing the city to pursue a grant to help fund improvements to the storm water system along Boyd Street.
Mayor Vince Lutterbie says the city will seek a $1.9 million grant through the Economic Development Administration to help cover the cost, noting some additional costs will be covered by ConAgra.
Lutterbie says ConAgra is offering to provide $496,800 to the project. Other problem areas in town were brought up during Tuesday’s meeting amid the past week’s heavy rains. Lutterbie provided an update on two of those areas that city is addressing.
Also at Tuesday’s meeting, the council approved the reappointment of Merlin Aldredge to the Marshall Housing Authority, and gave first reading to ordinances setting the general election for April 8th, and amending the city’s court cost collection process.
